History
Wayne and JoAnn Smith began Southern Closet Systems in 1983. Already having many years’ experience as a custom furniture and cabinet maker, they were asked to build some closet systems for a model home to be featured in the first Tampa Bay’s “Parade of Homes” showcase. It was a hit and that was the beginning of shelf help with Southern Closets. Being the first independent locally owned closet company to the state of Florida, they depended mostly on their customers to spread the word. They have been doing it for over 30 years and now Southern Closet Systems is the leading closet company in design, manufacturing and service for the entire Tampa Bay area for almost two decades. They’ve always looked at building a storage system as if we were building a fine piece of furniture. Every piece is custom-made with an obsessive attention to detail. They are always looking for ways to further enhance the form and functionality of their storage systems.
Custom Craftsmanship
After every wood grain, door panel, and trim piece has been carefully selected to meet your needs and tastes, a Southern Closet System Designer specifies the plans for manufacturing. Everything at Southern Closet Systems is built to match the specific measurement and even more specific form and function of your closet.
Since all of the manufacturing and most of the finishing is done in their factory, installation takes from one to just a few days. This also means there’s not a lot of cutting, sanding, or other messy construction going on in your home. It goes without mention that the Installers always give the utmost consideration to you, your family and your home. The entire Southern Closet Systems team is never more than a phone call away to handle any last-minute questions.
